Squat it out!

Tonight was great except for the immense pain we are in from the last 2 days at the gym. Last night we did the circuit at planet fitness and the day before, the 70 wall balls killed our legs! As mom says "Thank God there's a handicap pole in the bathroom at work or else I wouldn't be able to get onto the toilet" HAHA that's great! Pain can be annoying sometimes but atleast I know I'm doing something right.

Anyway, tonight's workout:

The 6 sets of 2 Front squats weren't too bad at the 85%

I used 105 pounds and mom used 45 and then 65 pounds. She is still taking it easy because of the knee. Plus, she took a month off so it's going to take a couple weeks to build back up for her.

The workout for time was such a great cardio workout! Was pretty easy but I should of used a heavier kettle bell but my wrist was hurting. Mom and I used 18 pounds. Also, we both stepped up on the box jumps instead of jumping up. Ever since I skinned both shins from box jumps, I'm a little weary about them.

Results:
Me 7 minutes 35 seconds
Mom 7 minutes 28 seconds

Excellent job mom! You kicked butt! Everyone did a great job tonight!

Here's me doing my front squats..

Going to Crossfit tomorrow! Going to be in so much pain tomorrow morning! Ugh!

Ladies Night! Spring time!

April is here and it's time to get serious! 2+ weeks of craziness has pulled us away from Crossfit and I am one unhappy camper! From a hurt knee for mom to appointments and wedding planning, my nights have been so packed. Now that most of the planning is done, it's time to focus on what I love the most, Crossfit!

Today was an amazing workout to get back into Crossfit! This warmer temps outside sure do help!

Overhead Squats were tough, haven't done these in a while. I did 5 sets at 65 pounds and mom used 35lbs (she has to take it light on her knee because I can't have her out again!)

7 rounds for time with wall balls, knees to bar, and sprints were really hard. That minute of rest between each rounds was amazing.

Here's some pics of all the ladies tonight!

Took me 16 minutes, 27 seconds.
Too me mom around 18 minutes.

Amazing job tonight everyone! Had a blast with just us ladies :) we know how to get it done!

Ripped Hands! It's official!

Well, I have finally succeeded in ripping my skin open during 14.4. I always see pictures of crossfitters with callouses and ripped up hands but I never actually tore my skin, only couloused up.

If I did more than one toe to bar in a row in this open tonight, my hands would be ripped to shreds!

Here's one of my hands even after countless chalk applying and taking breaks after every toe to bar.

Anyway, here's the open workout...

You have to be an elite CrossFitter to even get through this workout! I didn't even put a dent into it!

It took me about 4 minutes, 30 seconds to row 60 calories...

Then the toes to bar absolutely destroyed me. First of all, I've never done these before. So far, at Crossfit, I've only done knees to elbow... So doing toes to bar for the first time (Not to mention having to do 50) was tough!

I only got 20 of them in 10 minutes, that is 2 a minutes and that is pretty terrible.

Like I said, I had to stop in between each one and the main reason was because of my hands.

Next time, I need to tape up for this!

I will say that I am glad I did the workout. I thought I was for sure going to get to the wall balls. When I practiced toes to bar before the workout, I did a few pretty easily and I was feeling confident I would get through 50.

Then again, I did just row for 5 minutes.

Well, I'm exhausted.

Said Patty's Day Beatdown!

Total killer tonight. What a way to celebrate St Patty's day! Actually, I wouldn't have it any other way ;)

Doesn't look so bad, except for the fact that on the minute every minute we had to do 5 hand release push ups!!!! So in the midst of all the air squats, sit-ups, thrusters, and knees to elbows, we had to stop every minute on the minute and do 5 push-ups. Absolutely no break and absolute all pain. My arms and legs went numb at one point ...

Endurance workout 100%

On the split jerk tonight, I got a new PR! 115 for a 1RM! Last time i did these I got a 1RM of 85 so a huge improvement!

Results of the workout tonight:
Took me 17 minutes and 38 seconds, so with that time, that would be 85 push-ups added to that workout :0 ugh so hard! I'm going to be in so much pain for the next couple days.

Ok time to relax.

Open 14.3 :)

Tonight was the third week of the open! I tried to start off slow and steady so I wouldn't be tired by the third or fourth round but I ended up doing terrible because it was so hard either way... it's only been 5 months of Crossfit for me so I'll take the score I get and just embrace it...

Here was 14.3

I got to the 155 range and only got 6 dead lifts, giving me a total of 61 reps. Here's some awesome pics of 14.3

A great workout, I could of did way better but it is what it is... 14.3, you killed my back!!! I'm going to be in such pain this weekend! It doesn't help that we just did deadlifts Wednesday! ;)

Tabata ;)

First time I've ever done a Tabata workout. Tabata workouts are long and very painful to say the least!

There was 4 different exercises in the Tabata today, kettle bell swings, push-ups, sit-ups, and double unders.

There are 8 rounds for Each exercise spending 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off, non stop until 8 rounds are complete. The catch (because there is always a catch)... The lowest round is the round that counts towards your total. For instance, let's say for the first 20 seconds, I get 10 kettle bell swings... For the second 20 seconds, I get 10, but for the third I get 9. My total is now 9. Basically, you have to keep your stamina and strength the entire 8 rounds or else your scores will be low.

Here's what the workout looked like.

Oh yeah, we also did front squats before Tabata, 25 of them using 85-95 pounds.

Here's us during this dreadful thing
(As I smile lol)
(Me and Julie are dying.. Probably due to the fact that our abs were on fire and were cramping up so bad from the sit-ups)

Results:

I only had a total of 26. However, I used the 35 lb kettle bell and did double unders, so I am proud! That workout was not easy and I am going to be crying tomorrow in pain.

Scratch that, I'm crying already from yesterday's deadlifts and squats :*0

Nice job tonight everyone!

It's Getting Warm!

What a winter this has been! It's been 10 days since my last Crossfit workout due to a crazy sinus infection among many other annoying things going on (Life is never easy, thank God for Crossfit as my outlet!)

Anyway, mom found out today she has arthritis in her knees and some fluid around her left knee with a bakers cyst on top of that. She also tore something in her left knee because the fluid had some blood in it (I know, not good)... But she's going to get an MRI soon so she's taking about 2 weeks off from Crossfit, so it's just me for a little while (totally not the same without her but health comes first)

I'm going to just start posting the daily Workouts along with all the results of the night. Unless something crazy happens, that's going to be the gist of the blog posts.

So tonight's was...

Shoulder presses weren't too tough, and the highest set I did was with 60 pounds.

Results:

Everyone did an awesome job tonight, the 100m sprints killed me, I haven't ran in so long, but it felt so good with this warm weather! Tomorrow is going to be 66 degrees!!!!
