Isabel = dreadful snatches

After all this time, I just can't seem to get snatches off my to do list. The movement is so difficult and I just can't grasp it! It drives me crazy!

I just can't get the bar where I need it and I can't get my squat where I need it, so frustrating. Anyway, tonight was just snatch after snatch and frustration followed every one of them (for me anyway).

Photos of snatches and backsquats (workout A and B)

For A, I could only get 65 and mom got 55. We wanted to advance so badly on the weight but we just couldn't get the move down perfectly. For B, I got 145 and mom got 120! Great job on B.

Isabel wasn't too bad. I used 55 pounds and mom used 45.

Mom finished under 5 minutes and it took me 5 minutes, 49 seconds.

Quick workout but just an overall frustrated night with these darn snatches! Hopefully tomorrow I will feel more accomplished.

Jackie Returns!

Tonight we did Jackie! Last time we did this workout was in May, 6 months ago.

Our results last time were 15 minutes for me and 13:20 for mom. We used thicker bands during the workout and less weight on the bar.

Before Jackie was our warm up.

Then we did hang snatches and back squats.

3 rep max of hang snatches.
Me: 70 pounds
Mom: 50 pounds

3 rep max of back squats
Me: 125
Mom: 110

Then... Jackie

Jackie is for time:
Row 1000 meters
50 thrusters with 25 pounds
30 pull-ups

Results
Me: 12 minutes, 17 seconds
Mom: 12 minutes, 55 seconds

Both beat our old time and with more weights, thinner bands! Awesome! Feeling so accomplished tonight!

Some hang snatch shots..
I could only do the power snatch and mom did the full hang snatch! Great job!!

After the workout, we felt pretty good. Last time we did Jackie, I thought my legs and arms were going to fall off! This time was way easier, which means we are definitely getting stronger and better at CrossFit! :)

And tonight I did a pull-up with no band! Whoooo hoooo!

Ok time for dinner!

Box Jumps and Planks!

Not too bad tonight..

Warmed up with jumping good mornings and front squat rack positions, five of each for two rounds after rowing 500 m.

The workout consisted of a three rep max in 12 minutes of hang cleans. Then three sets of three hang pulls, adding 10% weight onto the bar depending on our three rep max for hang cleans.

I got 95 for the 3RM and mom got 80.

For the work out, we had to climb the ladder doing box jumps and five second plank holds. This meant one box jump then holding the plank for five seconds, then two box jumps then holding the plank for 10 seconds, then three box jumps and holding the plank for 15 seconds... And so on for 10 minutes.

We all climbed to about 11 box jumps and 55 second plank holds. Some of us were able to get the 12 box jumps in but I forgot to take a picture of the results. It was a great workout and the plank holds really killed our cores. We are going to be sore tomorrow!

Stronger is better!

It feels great to be strong!! Amazing actually! Knowing that I can do anything any man can is a powerful weapon as a female! However, I need to cut some body fat asap! Starting tomorrow, mom and I are going on a strict lifestyle change... Paleo as best as we can. It is much needed. I think it will give us more energy and will make us be able to do the best we can at Crossfit.

Anyway, tonight's workout was a good one!
Ran two laps and then the warmup
As if we didn't do enough burpees the other night..

Then the workout
Got a nice 5 rep max of 105 on the jerks and mom got 75.

During the workout, I used 53 pounds in each hand for farmers carry and mom used 36. For sumo deadlifts, I used 65 and mom used 45. Great workout and great job to both of us.

Killer WOD

Burned a lot of calories and built a lot of muscle in tonight's workouts!

My 5 rep max for hang cleans was 95! And mom's was 70! These were tough but we got through them!

The workout was nuts! A combination of everything that is hard, running, burpees, and wall ball situps :0!

Results
Took me 19 minutes and 35 seconds and mom right behind me at 19 minutes 41 seconds ! She's a beast!! Love our workout time together! So inspiring! This one looked so hard and we defeated it! Go us!

Tough Friday night!

Tonight was an intense heart racing combination of workouts.

Started with a quick warmup..
Then a crazy workout...

The lunges were so hard but really gave me an incredible leg workout. I used 105 pounds. Chavs and Risa worked on other workouts they missed this week. Chavs did OH squats and Ris did deadlifts. Here's so pics of us during workout A.

Me doing barbell lunges

Chavs doing overhead squats

Ris doing deadlifts. She got 235 tonight! Which is awesome! Nice job Marisa!

Here's the results of tonight's workout. The rowing was so difficult without using legs, my arms felt like they were going to fall off and to top it off, we then had to do push-ups and knees to elbows... I popped blood vessels in my fingers from the knees to elbows and my entire body is SO sore! What a night! Sometimes it's crazy to me that I do this stuff for fun lol

My poor fingers...

Had to take a pic with Bill and send to momma. She's in FL on vacation and we are missing her at crossfit856 :(

Ok, time for bed!
